All 14 races count towards the Series Championship with a $175,000 Prize purse at the end of the season.

                Champion             $75,000

                2nd Place             $50,000

                3rd Place              $25,000

                4th Place               $15,000

                5th Place               $10,000

Each event includes 2.5 hours of track time consisting of two 30-minute free practice sessions, a 30-minute qualifying session and two 30-minute races. The majority of events are in conjunction with other established series and are spectator events. The Series is limited to 20 drivers and season entry is on a first come, first served basis.

There is a mandatory 2-day Official Test in February for drivers to get acquainted with their cars and crew. Drivers will keep their same car and crew throughout the season. This Official Test is included in the Season entry. We want our drivers to become familiar with the cars and the race operation. Our goal is 30 minutes of green flag racing for every race and our drivers will receive the proper coaching to help make that happen.

The Series is open to drivers ages 15-35 who are graduates of accredited racing schools. Drivers who hold a USAC, SCCA, NASA, HSR, FARA, IMSA, FIA racing license or one from another recognized organization are also eligible to compete. The minimum age is 15 years old and the maximum age is 35. Special consideration will be given to a driver who will be turning 15 during the year, but has not reached that age at the beginning of the season as long as they have significant experience in a recognized karting series and have attended an accredited racing school.

The Series will have some of North America's top driver coaches in attendance to assist every driver in their advancement in racing. And drivers are welcome to have their own personal driver coaches as well. In addition, we will have a major PR firm providing media training for all of our drivers, so that they are well conditioned to the demands of professional racing in the eyes of the public.

All cars are owned by the Series, maintained and set up to be identical by the Series' engineers to ensure a level playing field for all drivers in the Championship. There will be some individual adjustments allowed, but they will be limited to roll bars and wing angles. This is a Driver's Series. There is no need to purchase your own car, maintain it and transport it or pay a team to run you. We take care of all of that. All you need to do is concentrate on driving. Drivers may request testing dates not included in the Series schedule at an additional fee. However, all drivers in the Championship must be notified of these dates and be allowed to participate.

Formula America is an all inclusive racing series where your only other expenses are your personal travel, hotel accommodations, helmet, HANS and any on-track damage. Included in your full season entry is a Series designed driving suit and Nomex undershirt. Matching shoes and gloves are available at a special discount to Series drivers. Formula America drivers also receive a Series branded jacket as well. Formula America offers optional insurance for on-track damage for $950 per event or $6,300 for the season that covers up to $25,000 in damage per event with a $6,000 deductible.

The total cost for a full season in Formula America is $125,000 and made in payments as follows;

  $15,000 due with signed entry form (secures your spot in the Championship)

  $50,000 due March 1, 2019

  $30,000 due June 1, 2019

  $30,000 due September 1, 2019

We'll even help you secure sponsors. The season is limited to 20 drivers, so the sooner you get your entry in, the sooner you can lock in your spot on the grid. Because of the large response that we are receiving, we are excepting registrations now without payment, so that everyone gets the opportunity to secure their spot. We will not begin taking payments until later this year, but you can still reserve your spot now. Registration forms are available to download at the bottom of this page.

All Series drivers are urged to visit the Formula America shop in Sebring, Florida to have their custom seat fitted  and pedals adjusted in January, prior to the first Official Test. A custom-made seat is required by the Series and is included in the entry fee.

Formula America will have a Winter Series (starting December 2019) held in the southeast which will consist of three double header events (6 races). These events will be in the same format as the Championship Series, however they will be 2-day events to enable young drivers not to have to miss school.
